Good Listening: Hall and Oates – Live in Chicago (1983)

h20

This is what we call an encore performance.

Longtime readers of the site will recall that we’ve featured some Hall and Oates shows here in the past that were pretty awesome. Because Hall and Oates were/still are pretty awesome.

But in 1983, they were kings of the pop music world.

For a bit more history regarding the amount of influence H&O had on others in the 80s, I’ll direct you to this particular episode of Yacht Rock.

Sometimes it all came at a cost.

After you’re done with that, tune your ears to this – two hours of Hall and Oates captured live on the H20 tour, featuring hit after hit, and the album tracks you know and love like “Open All Night.”

And get stoked for the forthcoming release of Do What You Want, Be What You Are, the hella-awesome four CD box set coming from Daryl Hall and John Oates, set for release by Sony Legacy on October 6th!

On the Alexa scale, this will be the third most awesome post I’ve ever put up here. Will there be a fourth most awesome post?

Let the suspense begin…

  1. Awesome! Thanks for posting this! I had this show on cassette that I taped off of radio but it was destroyed many years ago from overuse. Thanks again!
