Spinning vinyl: The Go-Go’s

Winding down tonight after a busy day of work, and an evening of fellowship and food with Kevin Mason, I found myself back at home “spinning the black circle.”

Tonight’s selections – the Mudcrutch Extended Play Live EP release that I just got in the mail, and after that, Talk Show by The Go-Go’s. Another cool label, and I thought I’d share a cell phone pic of it with you all….

  4. Gail – I think it’s unfair that in 2008, Jane Wiedlin is not my wife! 🙂

    Louie – I agree, and I can’t believe that it is not in print on CD. I saw the vinyl of Talk Show in a thrift store the other day, and immediately, I had to hear Turn To You!

    You’re right, that piano is bad ass. Figures that a keys player would point that out!!

    I’ll tell ya though – I saw The Bangles in 2002 during their initial 12 city reunion tour. I caught the HOB show, and they blew me away. Not too long after that, I caught The Go-Go’s here in Cleveland, and walked away feeling like The Bangles were the better band. Better songs, and more of them. Two hours of The Go-Go’s was a long time.

    Of course since we’re talking about that, I need to tell you about seeing Belinda at a casino in Milwaukee in 2003. I was stoked to see her play her solo hits….and she played almost NONE of them. Played maybe one Go-Go’s tune, and to top it all off, she was playing to tracks without a band. SO disappointing on a night that I could have been watching a few other bands in Milwaukee, including Eric Johnson, who was in town…
