The digital ATV mailbox gets bombarded with its share of various pitches on new music and downloads of more albums than my ears could possibly ever have time to process. It’s a good problem to have and every now and then, a real gem lands in my inbox.
Enter Keith Moody.
Originally from Alabama, his website bio describes his new album Dreaming Out Loud as his “first full length classic rock influenced album.”
Call it what you want – it’s a fine album’s worth of listening and Moody’s vocal phrasing occasionally reminds me of Glen Phillips.
His influences are wide reaching, from Ray Charles to Tom Petty. As Moody explains, “like most people my age I listened to a variety of music and owned albums across all genres, such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Bruce Springsteen, which is why I have a hard time fitting music into a particular bin. If it is good, it’s good so why does it matter?”
Exactly.
Dreaming Out Loud, Moody’s second full length release, was released on February 14th and you can grab it via a number of sources, including very affordably from Amazon MP3 for $5.99
Keith is currently on the road promoting the new album with a series of shows that will take him to South by Southwest next week for three shows.
Heads up to Cleveland folks, he’ll be here at Wilbert’s for a show on April 7th.
