Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will be the Friday night headliner next year at Isle of Wight on June 22nd. Considering that Bruce Springsteen and some bunch of guys that call themselves the E Street Band will also be there headlining on Sunday, June 24th, a trip to Isle of Wight is looking mighty attractive right about now.

I wonder if Brian can drive us there? (The tired Bonnaroo jokes live on….)

According to an official dispatch from Petty’s email list, the Isle of Wight appearance is a big deal – it’s the first major European concert for Petty and the Heartbreakers in 20 years!

It’s certainly exciting news, because it indicates that we can definitely expect significant activity (and hopefully new music) from Petty next year.

Vinyl lovers – hopefully you got your hands on a copy of the wax-exclusive ‘Kiss My Amps’ live release that Petty released for Record Store Day’s Black Friday a few weeks ago.

It’s worth the purchase based on the title alone, right?
