Good news for Steve Poltz fans – the former Rugburns frontman (and co-writer of Jewel’s “You Were Meant For Me”) recently unleashed his latest CD, titled Dreamhouse, on the unsuspecting masses. The new album is available now on CD or digital download, and there’s a vinyl pressing on the way!
From Steve:
My new CD is done cookin’. It’s ready for order right here on this very website. I went to Halifax, Nova Scotia and met award winning producer/ songwriter Joel Plaskett and formed a strong bond. We decided to make a record at his studio in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Recorded analog on 16 track 2 inch tape it has the “Dreamhouse” sound. It’ll also be available on vinyl (yes! a record!) in a few more weeks.
The artwork was done by a Halifax artist named Rebecca Kraatz. Check out her website. She did a work for hire for me. Crazy cool woodburn art.
Check out song samples for all of the tracks via Amazon.
Here’s “Dog In Bosnia” from the live session that Steve recorded for Daytrotter this past December.
Twitter folks can follow Steve on Twitter @stevepoltz. Poltz recently broke his left hand, but as you might expect, broken hand or no broken hand, the Poltz promotional machine rolls on, with all tour dates proceeding as scheduled.
Poltz will celebrate the new CD AND his 50th birthday with a special show on Friday night at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA, featuring Poltz, a special reunion set from The Rugburns, and Mojo Nixon!
Closer to home, Steve Poltz will be back in Cleveland for another show at the Beachland on Tuesday, April 6th.
