Cleveland Scene’s annual Best of Cleveland issue hit the streets yesterday, and we’re honored to have Addicted to Vinyl listed in the critics’ picks under the banner of “Best Music Blog Besides Ours.”

If you’ve followed the musical history of REO Speedwagon, you might think that it’s impossible to find critical love in your home city, but with this nod from Scene, we’re now realizing that the problem might have actually been REO Speedwagon.

Sorry dudes – looks like it’s time for you to fly!

We’re very appreciative of the dap (that’s a fist bump, apparently) and recognition from Scene. ATV is only one of the many fine music blogs that you should be aware of here in Cleveland. You can find most of the rest of them listed on our blogroll – check ’em out, and add them to your bookmarks for some fine reading!

Elsewhere in the Best of Cleveland coverage, there are some good words for ATV favorites including Joshua Jesty, who picked up the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Solo Music Artist. Our friends at Music Saves nabbed another Reader’s Award as the best place to buy vinyl and also the critics’ pick for best music store, while My Friends in Lakewood, a.k.a. the ATV home office, snagged the best late night dining vote from Scene readers.

Our vinyl friends at Blue Arrow Records and Books scored the award for “Best Place To Buy Trashy Pulp Novels,” and Nicholas Megalis, one of the most eccentric musicians we know, snagged the awesome title of “Best Male Singer-Songwriter.”

Hell, we gave that award to Nicholas a long time ago….just so he’d stop with the harassing phone calls!
