I was surfing tonight, and discovered via I Rock Cleveland, that the previously discussed lineup for the Halloween show at the Beachland Ballroom has been expanded slightly.
Sadly, it looks like Devil Moto’s CCR tribute is off the bill. People keep telling me that I need to see Devil Moto, and I guess that once again, that’s going to have to wait.
Here’s the 411 on new additions to the lineup for the event on Thursday, October 30th which has been cleverly dubbed “Hallo Cleveland.”
My pal Joshua Jesty, part of last year’s recreation of Weezer’s Pinkerton, will tackle the music of The White Stripes this time around. Additionally, Nashville Red will serve up a set of Black Keys tunes.
Wear a costume and get 3 bucks off of the 5 dollar admission price.
But that’s not what this blog is about.
The Beachland folks have launched a blog that already has a couple of entries, including a great story about Glen Tilbrook of Squeeze and his longtime love affair with the club.
I’m glad to have another way to keep tabs on the club that always makes sure that I see friends like Blue Rodeo, Steve Poltz, and the Yayhoo collective of Dan Baird/Eric Ambel/Keith Christopher/Terry Anderson at least once every coupla years.
Add ’em to your RSS reader, and I’ll see you there for Matthew Sweet next week!
J. Geils Band – Looking For A Love (live Rockpalast ’79)
That is awesome 🙂
Thank you for the heads up*
That bill sounds awesome, although I would have loved that CCR set…
Hate to inform you of this but I learned from someone who played for Devil Moto that the band is no longer… That was one of the only reasons I was going to go there. (and to see Matt of course….yeah…..sure.)
yeah, when you’re in a band that is actually good, that people actually talk about, breaking up is a great move.
You should still go because, 1) I am going, and 2) The Hot Rails are amazing!
