I thought it was an interesting question, because if I had had the opportunity to interview someone like Heavy D, that wouldn’t have been a question that I would have thought of, and yet I was VERY curious to hear the answer once I heard it. I instantly thought, as the DJ had, that there must be an insane page count when writing lyrics for stuff like this. I guess we were both wrong on that one.
Born in Jamaica, he’s currently about to release his first reggae album Vibes, on September 30th (digitally via Itunes.) When asked about the latest stuff he likes musically, he admitted that because of his current reggae project, he hasn’t been listening to a lot of new stuff lately.

After the radio tour wrapped up, I had the opportunity to dig a little bit deeper on the Sting front, and asked him what his favorite album was. He said that Laurence Fishburne had introduced him to Sting’s music, and suggested that he should pick up the Fields of Gold compilation, and that that was what had really gotten him into Sting’s music.
I suggested that he should pick up The Soul Cages, and he said that someone else had recently told him that he needed that album. I confirmed that, and also suggested that Ten Summoner’s Tales would be a good secondary acquisition. Sting was in a good creative period at that point, I told him.
And this is where I stopped myself, and left it at that. I wanted to tell him about the amazing version of “Little Wing” (video) on the Nothing Like The Sun album, and from there, I probably would have made my way through the entire Sting catalog.
