And I’m not talking about “Saturday in the Park,” or “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting,” or even “Saturday Night” by Bay City Rollers.
And I’m not talking about the version of “Saturday Night” by Ned’s Atomic Dustbin.
But come to think of it, I should be.
Anyway.
Retro Music Snob featured my post regarding the not-so-lovely “remix” of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” and threw in an awesome shot of the original 45 sleeve for the “Eye of the Tiger” single.
The B-Side for the single was a rockin’ track called “Take You On A Saturday,” that was ripped straight from the previous Survivor album Premonition. On Premonition, Survivor needed a mere 8 tracks to get the job done. I heard the Eye of the Tiger album first, and then heard Premonition and the first self-titled album, many years later.
The albums weren’t available on CD at that point, so I went to quite a few record shows before I was able to track down vinyl copies of those two albums, and also Caught In The Game, the album that was the follow-up (thanks Chris!) to Eye of the Tiger.
But anyway, back to “Take You On A Saturday,” check THIS out.

And hell, while we’re at it, check out “Heart’s A Lonely Hunter” from Premonition as well.
