As a stats geek, I’m constantly looking at the site stats to gauge the overall popularity of the topics that I’m writing about here at Addicted to Vinyl. Additionally, I look at the stats that detail who is visiting Addicted to Vinyl, and how they are finding my site.

It’s always a thrill to find yourself linked on a page/blog that you read frequently, and that’s exactly what I found on one of my absolute favorite daily reads, Life, Liberty, & Pursuit of Your Boyfriend.

As a fellow Cleveland-based blogger, Mel has a page full of local love that details a few of “my favorite lil’ things about Cleveland.”

Within that page, Addicted to Vinyl snags mention under the heading of “These People Know Some Things Better Than I.”

Cool!

Life, Liberty, & Pursuit of Your Boyfriend first came onto my radar when I saw it on Scene Magazine’s blogroll.

Intrigued by the name, I clicked through, and quickly got sucked into the almost-daily updates from a Cleveland girl who is just trying to remain sane on a daily basis in spite of the morons that surround her, and the challenges they present.

Entries are uniquely categorized under subjects like “A Moment in WTF,” “This only happens to me,” “EX-ploitation,” and um, “Penis Tuesday.” I don’t really spend too much time reading the entries in that last category….and hopefully you can figure out why!

Mel does a great job of pulling the curtain back on her daily life, and while it’s possible that she’s not giving us the complete view, you’ll find it hard to imagine what she might be holding back, after reading just a few entries on the site.

Relationships are a big part of the story, from the beginning when things are good, through the ups and downs, and dealing with the fallout (or lack of,) after it’s over. Chances are, if you’ve been in any relationship, you’ll find yourself thinking “I’ve BEEN there!”

Perhaps you’re looking for something cool to do in Cleveland? There’s a list of that stuff too, and you can track the progress (and try a few yourself) as items are marked off the list.

She also has an Ipod named Esteban that isn’t afraid to kick out a little Aimee Mann every now and then.

Four years ago, I don’t think my liver would have lasted one night with her, but these days, we could probably hang out.

Mel’s mellowed out a bit…but haven’t we all?
