I mentioned briefly in a recent post, my plans to journey to Dayton, OH to see Night Ranger. When I saw the date pop up on Night Ranger’s Myspace page, I gave it a casual glance, and figured that it was an opening slot.
Opening slots, as much as I love Night Ranger, aren’t really worth the current cost of gas, unfortunately. But I heard that indeed, it was a headlining show from NR, which caused my musical ears to perk up. A friend of mine said to me “yeah, I think it’s just Night Ranger on that show.”
And then today, my musical ears REALLY perked up, when I visited the website for Fraze Pavilion, and saw the actual show lineup, which includes many bands besides Night Ranger.
When I say many, I’m talking about Night Ranger, Lou Gramm, and Survivor (kind of) in the headlining slots. Also on the bill: Taylor Dayne (what?) Howard Jones (!) Patty Smyth (!) and Scandal, Asia (the John Payne version,) Romantics, Flock of Seagulls, and Naked Eyes.
All of the above, are collectively part of the local Mix radio station’s annual “Summerfest,” happening on Saturday, July 5th (purchase tickets.)
I made one rock and roll phone call, and a couple of hours later, I had tickets confirmed for “Summerfest.”
It’s on.
Will the show be “RAD?”
We’ll have to wait and see on that one…I’ll keep you posted with a review!
