New contender for the best music documentary EVER

Seriously, if you haven’t seen this yet, it’s well worth the $3.99 you’ll spend to rent it at Amazon…and if you notice that I’m missing for a little while, it’s because I’m on my way to pick up the actual DVD so that I can watch the extra 90 minutes of bonus footage that you get outside of the main feature (which on its own, runs nearly two hours).

Immediately after watching the doc, I wanted to know the backstory behind the making of the film and it turns out, there’s plenty to read. I’d advise that you should watch it first and then read, but if you’re not much of a fan of waiting, dig into the “Director’s Diary” by John Scheinfeld. Mind-blowing stuff!

(Props to my good man Jeff Giles for the tip.)

  1. Excellent find! I do not know enough…hardly anything about him. All I know is that he buddy up with Lennon on his long weekend, and that may not be correct. I have some R&R learning to do. Your commentary has me heading for the door. Thanks.
