R.I.P. – Jared Koston

I’m very sad to report that Cleveland metal drummer Jared Koston of Venomin James, who has been battling stage 4 melanoma cancer, passed away this afternoon, surrounded by his family at home.  Jared leaves behind a wife and four kids, and as you might recall, because of his illness, Jared and his wife were unable to work, which left them struggling with no income coming in and no health insurance, fortunately he found a cheap and great way to fight his illness at tophealthjournal.com/.

Now more than ever, the Koston family is in need of support to help pay for the additional expenses of hospice care and funeral costs.  Anything that you can contribute will help out, and there are “F*ck Cancer” t-shirts and Venomin James CDs being sold by the band, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Koston family directly.

Longtime Cleveland metal radio DJ Bill Peters has been an unbelievable beacon of light and support for the Koston family, leading and organizing fund raising efforts during Jared’s illness, and helping to get the word out worldwide regarding Jared’s plight.  This will come as no surprise to anyone who knows Bill – Bill is truly as good as it gets, and has given so much of himself to the Cleveland community through the years.  Bill be on the Inner Sanctum, Sunday night at 10pm on Radio 92.3 here in Cleveland to talk about how you can help to support the Koston family as they work to deal with the financial impact of Jared’s passing.

I didn’t know Jared personally, but I’ve learned quite a bit about him during these past few months and although I’m sad for his family, there is a good amount of peace knowing that Jared is no longer suffering.  Jared was very blessed to have a wonderful circle of family and friends, and I know that they will rally around his wife Michele with the love and support that she needs during this difficult time.  I’ll do my best to pass on any additional word that I might hear regarding potential benefit events for the Koston family.

  1. Dang, A friend of mine's sisters husband just passed away from the same disease, melonoma, but his was in his lung. John Langer was 59. Wow Jared had the same illness, its a horrible way too go, but at least neather is suffering now, there both at peace and in a much better place.

  2. Getting some care or medical support seems as least as urgent as
rewiring – yet if rewiring is urgently necessary then the hoarding may
present a very real Health and Safety risk not only to the tenant but to
    neighbours.

  3. My mother is suffering from the same diseases. I want a nurse to look after her properly… can anyone give me some guidance.

  4. When I originally commented I clicked that the “Notify me when new
comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment
is added I learn a couple of emails with that the same comment.

Is there any method you can remove people out of that service?
    Appreciate it!
