The 12 Boots of Christmas: All the Way from San Jose

Boot #11 in the 12 Boots of Christmas series brings together two of Santa’s favorite sons, Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson, for an old-fashioned rock and roll radio show that is sure to warm the coldest holiday heart.

Hunter Ronson BW

The Hunter/Ronson band is appearing at the Cabaret Club in San Jose, California on December 16, 1989 in support of its latest release, YUI Orta.

This crispy FM broadcast contains 17 songs highlighting Hunter’s career and his many collaborations with Ronson.

Five are new tunes, including “Tell It Like It Is,” featuring a wicked Ronson guitar solo, and the radio-ready “Women’s Intuition.”

The remainder of the setlist features a healthy dose of 1979’s You’re Never Alone With a Schizophrenic and a great 13 minute medley bookended by “All the Young Dudes.”

Ronson fans get a special holiday surprise with the appearance of a red-hot and rockin’ take on “White Light White Heat” as well as a beautiful version of what became known as Ronson’s signature tune, “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue.”

Keep your rock and roll Christmas season crankin’ on the 20th anniversary of this holiday treasure.  Turn it up loud and spread the rock and roll cheer for all to hear.
