Put the shotgun away - that's no intruder, it's just your good pal Elton John captured during last night's concert at the Q.
Sigh. No, I wasn't in attendance for this one.
I took a pass on last night's show with Billy and Elton, because I knew that things would be pretty standard and by-the-numbers.
Turns out that I was close, but not completely right. My good pal John Soeder has more details in his review of last night's show here.
Here's the setlist, thanks to John!
BILLY JOEL AND ELTON JOHN:
"Your Song," "Just the Way You Are," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," "My Life"
JOHN:
"Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding," "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Burn Down the Mission," "Madman Across the Water," "Tiny Dancer," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Daniel," "Rocket Man," "Levon," "I'm Still Standing," "Crocodile Rock"
JOEL:
"Angry Young Man," "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)," "Allentown," "Zanzibar," "Don't Ask Me Why," "She's Always a Woman," "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant," "River of Dreams," "We Didn't Start the Fire," "It's Still Rock 'n' Roll to Me," "Only the Good Die Young"
ENCORE WITH JOEL AND JOHN:
"I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues," "Uptown Girl," "The Bitch Is Back," "You May Be Right," "Bennie and the Jets," "Birthday," "Back in the U.S.S.R.," "Candle in the Wind," "Piano Man"

I’m kind of regretting not going to this. Instead I saw Third Eye Blind and it wasn’t a great experience.

Really? That’s a bummer. I was never much of a fan. Did you see View From Everest open? I like those guys…

The band sounded good. There were just way to many people and the set up was bad. I didn’t see View From Everest. I didn’t see anything online about an opening band so I got down there right before 3eb went on.

Quicken Loans Arena? For real? It’s only a matter of time before we have Chico’s Bail Bonds Stadium.

Kurt – it doesn’t sting quite as much as when they first renamed it. Somehow still feels better than the Dunkin’ Donuts Arena or any of the other reallly ridiculous venue names out there.
Still, so totally NOT rock and roll.

Those of you who are not outlaw-rebel-mavericks should learn from those who are. Don't be afraid to blind date uncensored ask your questions. Challenge the prevailing opinion, regardless of its source. Be heard, not herd.
