In 1990, I don’t think that I could have predicted that one day I’d be reading about a Wilson Phillips reunion via something called “the internet” on a website called The Music Slut.
Am I a music slut too?
The Music Slut led me to an article at FemaleFirst featuring a short interview with Carnie Wilson. In the article, we are handed the following factoid:
The band is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year (09) with a series of gigs across America.
That’s right, 20th anniversary. So that means that the inevitable 20th Anniversary Wilson Phillips box set is undoubtedly on the way. You know, the one with four CDs, a coffeetable book, and vintage live concert on DVD or Blu-Ray.
It’s gotta happen, right?
Perhaps I’m getting a little bit ahead of myself. For now, plan on the opportunity to see the girls play a few shows. You’re either delighted or horrified by this prospect. I’ll let you think about that one for a bit…

whenever I think of Wilson Phillips I think of two things
1. When they were making fun of them on beavis and butthead
2. When they playd “hold on” during that one scene in Harold & Kumar go White Castle
That Hotel Ca. was so much worse than I expected. Really horrible. Bleg. I need to rinse.

Uh… all I can say to this is…. AWESOME.
One of my favorite scenes from Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle is when they’re in the car, singing “Hold On.”
Is Carnie still a Whale? Can they have an accurate reunion if she’s “slimmed down” at all?
It’s good news – it depends though on how many fans remember them, or can get babysitters.
I’m always up for more WP. Maybe they’re not great in concert but they’re music is great (better than anything pop music has come up with in 10+ years)
What-a-ya-mean remember? They made a HUGE debut……2 or 3 #1’s……5 in the top 10. I was 22 at the time.
I still listen to all their CD’s regularly. It doesn’t get old like the crap from last year
