Everything you needed to know about Juliana Hatfield, and then just a little bit more….

Juliana Hatfield is a fox. The end.

Doing the nightly (or is that hourly) scan of my Google Reader last night, I see that Popdose just put their Juliana Hatfield guide online.

It is a guide to the greatness of Juliana Hatfield, so of course you need to read it, even though I disagree with one part of it:

I happen to think that The Juliana Hatfield Three was a GREAT band name.

And Hatfield looks HOT on the back cover of the Become What You Are CD as an added bonus.

Become What You Are was an audio revolution that I think majorly stoked the flames on my growing love of female singer/songwriter ANYTHING.

This album, and stuff like Veruca Salt’s American Thighs album were top shelf in comparison to some of the other stuff that I would later wonder “why did I like that again?”

And Become What You Are celebrates 15 years this year. Where the heck is the Legacy Edition for this one?

Catch up on a bit of what you might have missed from the Hatfield catalog right here, and while we’re at it, here’s one of my favorite cuts from Become What You Are.

I’ll also submit this to my “great album lead-off tracks” hall of fame.

P.S. – Juliana Hatfield has a new CD out this week. Check it out, and grab a limited edition CD that comes with a full 2nd CD of demos for the album.

  1. I always liked her song “universal heart beat” . Do you remember when she was in the episode of my so called life?

  2. Do you plan on checking out TSY’s show on Friday (we responded to your inquiry on our blog and it confirmed that they are fortunately still on the bill)?

Thanks for the positive feedback about their music and perhaps we’ll see you there 🙂

  3. Jose – I think I’ve watched about 5 minutes total of My So Called Life.

Tragic. It’s on my list of things to do someday.

Universal Heartbeat is a favorite of mine as well!

Kelly – not sure that I will make it out to see The Silent Years – they’re going on a tad bit early, and I’ll be at the Winchester on Friday night. Definitely thinking about bouncing that way after I get done at Winchester, to at least see part of their set.

McCheese – glad I could make that happen for ya!
