Setlist: Extreme @ House of Blues 8-6-08

The new Extreme album Saudades de Rock officially hit the streets this past Tuesday. (purchase)

Listen to the full album via AOL right here.

Prior to the album’s official release, I had the opportunity to see the Cleveland date of the current reunion tour at House of Blues, which found the band anchoring a musician’s dream double bill that also featured King’s X as part of the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp tour.

For those of you that are on the fence about getting the new album – get it! It picks up right where Waiting For The Punchline left off!

And in the live setting, Extreme haven’t lost a step!

There ARE a couple of tracks that I am surprised they aren’t doing – “Hip Today” from Punchline, and “Stop The World” from 3 Sides.

The “first album” medley is really cool. Gary sent it out to the “old school” Extreme fans and said “I’m NOT talking about Pornograffiti!”

Nuno got a bit P.O.’d midset with some equipment problems, and even smacked a microphone stand as he was walking back, to fully demonstrate his frustration. Thankfully, he moved on from that point…

I would have loved more material from Punchline – “Cynical” or “There Is No God” would have been GREAT! And from the new album, I was bummed not to hear “Learn to Love,” and I would have definitely swapped out “Take Us Alive” (also from the new album,) to hear that one instead.

Here is the whole setlist from the House of Blues show.
