Quick Hits – Bruce Springsteen, Will Ferrell, Richard Marx, and more

Greetings from Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH where I watched Stone Temple Pilots return to the stage triumphantly last night. More on that in the next couple of days. For now, here are a few links that have caught my eye this week.

Cleveland based Liza Bundy who I wrote about previously here, has a new two song demo EP made up of recordings from a recent trip to Nashville. Visit her Myspace page for more information on the EP and how you can get your hands on it. Liza also posted a new solo acoustic song that she just recorded called “Stay.”

A friend of mine forwarded me another great video from Will Ferrell’s Funnyordie.com website. Click here if you haven’t met the “Green Team” yet.

Richard Marx and Vertical Horizon’s Matt Scannell have taken their musical partnership to the next level after several years of doing shows together. The duo have released a digital download, titled appropriately enough “Duo,” which features acoustic versions of favorites from their respective catalog, and also one new track written especially for the project. Good stuff if you are a fan of Marx, Vertical Horizon, or both. You can nab the download via Marx’s official website.

Foo Fighters nail the award for “funniest tour rider” of 2008. Their demands and lots of fat roadie jokes can be found here via The Smoking Gun.

Bruce Springsteen joins Mike Ness on stage for four songs at the Stone Pony, including Ball and Chain, which I would have liked to have seen!

The Popdose guys took me back to one of my favorite chart weeks for 1985. God, the 80’s were fun!
